Duval County Public Schools blame Charter schools for the reason why there will be less money in the upcoming school year.

Here we go again…..NOT ENOUGHT MONEY!!!!!The Duval County School Board says they must drastically tighten the district’s $1.69 billion budget because of a too-small increase in state funding coupled with a new state law which will force the school district to give millions of more dollars to charter schools.

The School Board also says there is going to be a $12 million shortfall of money this year than from the prior school year. The board may dip into the district’s 5 percent reserves to help plug the budget hole for the coming school year.

Property Values are on the rise again…. which means more tax revenue into the Duval School system and they are telling us there won’t be enought money for the upcoming school year.
