Duval County School Board is fending off criticism that it overspent $21 million from its current budget.
Last week, State Rep. Jason Fischer called for a state audit of the school board. Now Rep. Fischer is getting some allies. The Florida House Speaker Richard Corocoran says their needs to be an audit and now Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry tweeted and said he supports one as well.
Board Chairwoman Paula Wright said she is not pushing back against a state operational audit, she’d rather have a more detailed one that would get into specifics.
