Nassau County Commission VOTES DOWN a proposed gasoline tax increase

Kudos to the Nassau County Commission….A proposed gasoline tax increase in Nassau County was voted down by the county commission by a vote of of 3-2.

The proposed 5 cent extra would increase the total gas tax to 12 cents. As of now, Nassau County citizens pay seven cents.

Supporters of the tax increase say the money would have generated an extra $1.6 million a year, for road infrastructure.

Sales Tax is up, gasoline revenue is up, property values are up, yet some of those in Nassau County feels they are not taxing their citizens enough.
